Leicestershire needs Road Safety Tutors

Leicestershire County Council (LCC) are recruiting Road Safety Tutors.  The main focus of this role is to deliver Bikeability Training in schools throughout Leicestershire.    Due to an increase in funding from the Department for Transport (DfT) the County needs to double its workforce and deliver training courses to more schools than ever before.     For details see https://eism.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/lcc/requisitions/preview/1898   listed at   https://eism.fa.em2. oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/ CandidateExperience/en/sites/ lcc/requisitions ?

Short Ride Report by Terry Again, a significant crowd gathered at Holt Drive. After the longer rides had left to various corners of the county, it still left a large crowd for the short ride to Rearsby with Vic, I (Terry) therefore offered a delightful alternative 20 mile ride to Millies. This offer was taken up by Margaret, Anne, Dennis, Howard and Nim. We left Holt Drive across the Greenbelt and headed across town to Meadow Lane and Stanford. Approaching the North Road traffic lights, we saw Bryan’s group in the distance. The right turn in Stanford was considerably aided by a Stop/Go man on the corner, it looked as though Severn Trent were pumping away flood water! Onward to Cotes and across the A60, I don’t mind crossing the A60 here in this direction because you can see both ways, unlike approaching from Barrow! From here we climbed the slight hill towards Prestwold, turning right with the hall in view Nim excitedly exclaimed that’s where he got married. We turned left towa

Short Ride Report by Eric In an effort to try and be as efficient as John Catt, in his absence, Derek organised 2 short ride leaders. One was so short that many decided to follow him thinking this was an indication of ride length. So whilst David set off on a promised 20 miler, those who followed the diminutive Eric would have been disappointed that they would have to do at least 25. However it was promised, to avoid the wind and the hills and so they set off North in search of their Roots. Derek was so impressed with ride leaders Ged chosen, he chose to not go on any of the rides himself! It was a good mix of old stagers and Newbies who followed Eric. Nim who had joined LWC last time out, was surprisingly undeterred, and came out for a second time. They were also joined by first timer Stuart. Fiona, Andy, Dennis, John N, followed also and a very old stager Marcus acted as Whipper In. Coming through Loughborough we were joined by the oldest of old stagers .. Howard, the Wizard h

Long Ride Report by Brian Mick was looking to join the long ride only to be told that he was leading it. After some head scratching,  he decided to head to Swarkestone. He was joined by Dave, Rob Smith, Tricia and myself, Brian.  On route through Loughborough,  who should we see but Howard who decided to join us. Mick led us up the A6 to  Kegworth and with a bit of ducking and diving around the M1 and A50 , we arrived at Shardlow. A left turn took us into Aston and Weston on Trent and on to the coffee stop at Swarkestone Garden Centre. For  the return  leg we backtracked a mile or so to pick up the Cloud Trail  as far as Tonge.  Mike, Tricia, Rob, Brian and Dave on the Cloud Trail After heaving the bikes up the steep  steps we came back the usual way through  Belton, Shepshed, over the M1 and back to Loughborough . Thanks to Mick for a great ride at short notice . 36 miles and no rain! Medium Ride Report by Terry Nine riders left Holt Drive Anne, Margaret, Robert, La
