Short Ride
Report by Andrew
Short version
10 riders, The MMC, 18 miles
Less short version
Who was on the ride today?
Ten of us lead be Ian, namely Andrew, Betty, Chris, David, Eric, Marcus, Helen, Mick and Stuart.
Where did you go?
Interesting question. The initial planned location was East Goscote nurseries, but there was a Plan B - see below!!
How did you get there and back?
After heading out through Quorn, Woodhouse Eaves, Swithland and Cropston and heading towards Rothley it started to rain and looked ominous.
Therefore, Plan B was called upon and a diversion made to The Mountsorrel Memorial Centre - my first time here and I enjoyed it, light and airy with welcoming staff.

After our stop here it was back home along the A6 through Quorn and back into Loughborough just after noon with 18 miles clocked up.
What were the cycling conditions like?
It was chilly especially into the cold wind and we encountered the occasional shower but it was not too bad. The nasty pot hole in old Woodhouse by the junction outside the church has been marked up ….. but not yet repaired.
When did you get back?
Arrived back in Loughborough just after noon, after about 18 miles on the bike.
Why did you ride today?
Exercise? …. 👍. Yes nice steady paceGood company? …. 👍. As always.
Good conversation? … 👍. Of course, much talk about both running and moving house as well as much, much more!!
Nice coffee shop? …. 👍. A new one for me, I thought it was great! (The bike stands were undercover, useful on a rainy day like today!)
Short Ride 2
Report by John
The forecast had been for some light rain showers. In fact "light" proved to be a misnomer. Thus all the rides on offer were shorter than normal with John offering one to Bawdon Lodge.
After the other rides had departed, just Rob, Dennis and Derek remained with John. They set out through the University and climbed to Shepshed and then took Tickow Lane and Charley Road to Bawdon Lodge as the rain increased in intensity.

Having warmed up inside, while the sun came out for a bit, the riders decided to take the direct route back to Loughborough down Nanpantan Road, arriving back in Loughborough a bit before noon.
